Ball Bearing Mastertones work very well for both clawhammer and bluegrass and were found on professional-level Gibsons. Most banjos produced in the 1920s were tenors, so the pot is most likely a TB-3, hence the conversion 5-string neck from an early 1960s RB-250 bowtie. This banjo has a very clear, sweet tone up and down the fingerboard. It was professional set up here by Karl Dieterichs (owner/head of repairs) and is ready to play.
