This rare gem has been in Karl's (owner of Bucks County Folk Music Shop) personal collection for decades.  A fine example of both beauty and craftsmanship, this guitar projects rich and powerful tones with top-grade quality tone-woods that are nearly impossible to obtain in today's marketplace.
Attention to detail is evident throughout with exquisite abalone and mother-of-pearl inlay, *a uniquely bound fingerboard where a strip of the ebony is left unbound below the binding, straight tight-grained wood, and beautiful wood purfling detailing on the sides and back.
Being that this guitar is approximately 100 years old, it does show some wear including a few top cracks that were professionally repaired decades ago and have remained stable, along with a long-ago professionally repaired and stable patch on the side (top side, lower bout).
The paper label inside marks this as an H. F. Meyers "Ne Plus Ultra" Chicago, Illinois.  We strongly suspect that this guitar was made by the Larson Brothers for H. F. Meyers.  Larson Brothers instruments are of exceptional quality and were hand-crafted under brands such as Maurer & Co., W. J. Dyer & Bro., Wm. C. Stahl, Prairie State, Euphonon, Leland, Southern California Music Company, C. Bruno, and Regal.
